The borough of Paxtang is about a 1/4 mile in size. We border Harrisburg City Susquehanna Township and Swatara Township. We run a little over 300 calls a year. A majority of our calls are mutual aid. Theres 25 active members. We operate 1 Engine 1 Rescue 1 Support vehicle/Fire Police and a chiefs vehicle.

FUNDRAISER FOR ONE OF OUR OWN WHO NEEDS OUR HELP

Aug 2, 2014 One of our own members needs our help. He lost everything plus 2 pets in a house fire on July 31, 2014. He’s a members with us and Fairview Township.

Paxtang Fire Department and Fairview Township Fire Department are holding a joint benefit BBQ to support Captain Marcus Brandt and his family.

When: Saturday August 9th 2014 from 5PM till ???

Location: Fairview Township Fire Department Station #1, 340 Lewisberry Road New Cumberland.

Menu: Chicken BBQ, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Potato, Corn on the Cob, Soda, Water and Beer.

Donation: $20.00 for Adults, $10.00 for Children under 12

BUSY DAY FOR THE 40 HOUSE

July 11, 2014   Today was a busy for the 40 house.  The Engine ran 3 calls while the rescue ran 1 call.  The first call for the engine came in at 1138 hrs to transfer into the city of HBG station 2 while they had a fire in the downtown.  While enroute, at 1141 hrs the engine took in a fire alarm in the city at the City Government Center.  After clearing the fire alarm, crew returned back to city station 2 for stand-by.  At 1211 hrs the engine took in a crash with injuries in the city. Crews did debris clean-up and then returned back to station 2 for stand-by.  The Engine cleared the transfer at 1429 hrs.   Then at 1619 hrs the rescue was dispatched for a fire alarm in the 50-1 box Steelton.

TRANSFER WITH CALL TO THE SCENE

June 24 2014. This afternoon at 1514 hrs Engine 40 was dispatched to transfer to York County Sta 68-1 while they worked on a WSF in their first due. Engine 40 transferred with a crew of 4. While on station the engine was requested to the scene per command 68 at 1547 hrs. Crew arrived on the scene and assisted with overhaul. Total time out 2 hrs 53 min

Crabfest/Pig Roast Tickets

June 20, 2014   Crabfest/Pig Roast Tickets are now available through any member.  Paypal account will be up shortly on this website.  Tickets will be available on Station every Tuesday and Thursday Night starting July 8th from 6 PM till 9 PM.  Cost per ticket is $40.00 in Advance $42.00 via PayPal and $50.00 at Door.  Only 500 tickets available.

WORKING TRUCK FIRE 32-3 BOX

June 17th 2014.  At 1155 hrs Box 32-3 was struck for a possible structure fire.  Engine 40 with 2 arrived to find working truck fire.  Engine 32 arrived and supplied E-40.  Crews had a quick knock on the fire.  Photo’s courteous Jonathan Kike and Lt. 40

ENGINE TAKEN 2nd PLACE AT COUNTY CONVENTION

June 14, 2014   Today Engine 40 traveled to Wiconisco for the Dauphin County Fireman’s Convention.  We took 2nd Place Best Appearing Engine In-County 2000 and newer.  Thanks to the Borough for allowing us to go and show our pride.  A BIG thanks to York County Station 68 Fairview Twp. for covering the Borough.

MVA WITH ENTRAPMENT

June 11, 2014.  At 2028 hrs, Box 49-1 was struck for Rescue 40 to assist Co’s 49 and 44 Swatara Twp on an MVA with entrapment at Eisenhower BLVD and Chambers Hill Rd.  Rescue arrived to assist with vehicle stabilization, removal of one of the  pts, then assisted with debris clean-up.  Photo credit to Photo 40 Mrs Chief.

BABY BOY AT THE 40 HOUSE

Saturday May 24th 2014 @ 2212 hrs  Mr. and Mrs. Berdanier welcomed their son Kellin into  the world weighting in at 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches.  Mom, baby and dad are doing well.

WSF BOX 50-1

May 23, 2014  At 1213 hrs box 50-1 was struck for a working structre fire sending Eng 40 in place of the Res.  Crew arrived on the scene was assigned secondary search of divion 2 and 3 with negitive results.  Crew then assisted with overhaul of the 2nd floor.
