Dec 8, 2015. On Friday December 4th, the officers and members were advised the fellow brother Donald W Smith Jr has lost his battle with cancer. Don was an a loving husband and father. Don’s passion started at a young age in the emergency services. He started as Firefighter-EMT at Rutherford Fire. He later moved to Paxtang where he served as Firefighter and later became a police officer with the Paxtang Borough. He severed many years here at Paxtang and was still active with the department. He later became a police officer for Susquehanna Twp where he retired. After retirement he became a teacher of the Criminal Justice at Dauphin Co. Vo-Tech and Dean of Students, Assistant Principal. He also served with Susquehanna Twp EMS. He later moved to Dauphin-Middle Paxton where he was a member of the Dauphin-Middle Paxton EMS.
Service for Don Smith are Saturday Dec. 12 at Linglestown Church of God on Linglestown Road. Viewing is from 9AM till 1130AM with a fireman’s service at noon.
