11/15/14 TRANSFER ASSIGNMENT AND PIN JOB

11/15/14      At 0722 hrs this morning, the rescue was dispatched to transfer to Cumberland County Station 2-30 while they work a commercial structure fire in their first due.  Rescue 40 responded with 5.  While on stand-by, the rescue along with Cumberland Eng 25 were dispatched at 1036 hrs for an auto accident with injuries.  The Rescue and Eng arrived together to find a 3 vehicle accident with male entrapped.  Crew removed the drivers door and extricated the male within 5 minutes of arrival.  Total time out was 6 hrs and 12 mins.

WSF BOX 49-2 UNDERDOG BAR AND GILL

Nov 01, 2014      At 0411 hrs box 49-2 was struck for a vehicle fire at Underdog Bar and Grill.  Minutes after dispatch box was upgraded to a working fire with fire through the roof.  Eng 40 responded with 2.  Extra personal POV to the scene to assist.  Engine 40 arrived to tag a hydrant a block away and took side A of the building.  Engine 40 had 600 ft of 5 inch in the street, (1)  2  1/2  in service with (3) 1 3/4 lines in service plus other equipment.     Pics courtesy of capitalcityfirephoto.

FIRE PREVENTION 2014

Oct 18, 2014.    On Oct 7th and 8th, the fire company held their annual fire prevention at Paxton Presbyterian Church, Paxtang Elementary School and Little Lambs Daycare.  The daycare children and grades 1 and 2 saw a video on fire safety, learned Stop Drop and Roll and got to see a firefighter dressed up in gear.  Grades 3, 4 and 5 learned about the different type of fire extinguishers and then some were able to put out a small fire using a fire extinguisher.  Pics to come.

STAND-BY AT DILLSBURG FOR FARMERS FAIR.

Oct. 18, 2014.    Today the rescue provided stand-coverage for Dillsburg Fire Company during their Annual Farmers Fair from 0700 hrs till about 2130 hrs.  The rescue was staff with 7 personal.  Members also assisted Dillsburg with their event by helping cook and serving food.  There were no calls for service.

BOX 33-2 WSF

Oct. 18,2014    On Oct. 17, 2014, just a few minutes before midnight the rescue was dispatched to box 33-2 at assist on a working structure fire.  Rescue responded with 5, their assignment upon arrival was level 1 stage and set up as R.I.T.  on side A.  Once the fire was under control another rescue was called to the scene to take over R.I.T. and the rescue crew helped with overhaul.  Crew was back in service just before 4AM.

PAXTANG FIRE COMPANY OPEN HOUSE

Oct. 18, 2014.    On Wednesday the 8th, the Paxtang Fire Company held their annual open house in conjunction with fire prevention.  There were fire trucks on display, a set of gear and tools we use were on display,  how to put out a stove fire,  a smoke house for the kids, bounce house, free give aways and light refreshments.  OH142

OCTOBER IS FIRE PREVENTION MONTH

Oct. 3, 2014 October is fire prevention month. Remember to change the battiers in your smoke detectors. Make sure you have a working smoke detector on every floor of your home. Our Open house is Oct. 8th from 6Pm till 9PM. There will be static displays of fire trucks, fire gear, smoke house, how to put of stove fires and free give aways. Stop in to support your local fire department. The fire company will also be visiting the schools in part of fire prevention.
