01-02-16 At 1214 hrs box 44-2 was struck for a structure fire. Engine 40 responded with a crew of 6. Engine 40 arrived and laid in to side A of the apartment complex and stretched a line into the building. Part of the crew was assignment was to do a 2nd search of the 2nd floor with negative results. Time out was just shy of 2 hrs.

Condolences to the griffey family
Jan 01, 2016. On Jan 01, 2016, the officers and members were advised that fellow brother James R Griffey lost his battle with cancer. James was a loving husband and father. James started his fire service with the Eden Fire Department, then went to the Progress Fire Department. James then went to serve his country as a Marine. After leaving the Marines, he became a live-in at the Paxtonia Fire Department until he meet his wife Kathy. James than moved to Paxtang where he was an active member holding the titles of firefighter and trustee. Please keep the Griffey family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Condolences To the Smith Family
Dec 8, 2015. On Friday December 4th, the officers and members were advised the fellow brother Donald W Smith Jr has lost his battle with cancer. Don was an a loving husband and father. Don’s passion started at a young age in the emergency services. He started as Firefighter-EMT at Rutherford Fire. He later moved to Paxtang where he served as Firefighter and later became a police officer with the Paxtang Borough. He severed many years here at Paxtang and was still active with the department. He later became a police officer for Susquehanna Twp where he retired. After retirement he became a teacher of the Criminal Justice at Dauphin Co. Vo-Tech and Dean of Students, Assistant Principal. He also served with Susquehanna Twp EMS. He later moved to Dauphin-Middle Paxton where he was a member of the Dauphin-Middle Paxton EMS.
Service for Don Smith are Saturday Dec. 12 at Linglestown Church of God on Linglestown Road. Viewing is from 9AM till 1130AM with a fireman’s service at noon.

Nov 24, 2015. At 2134 hrs Dauphin County dispatched box 49-4 for a working structure fire. At 2247 hrs Rescue 40 was dispatched to the scene. Rescue responded with 6. Nov. 14, 2015 New Cumberland WSF
Nov. 14, 2015. At 2155 hrs Cumberland County Box 10-01 was struck for a working structure fire. Chief 10 arrived on the scene with a house fully involved. Chief 10 requested a 2nd alarm bring Rescue 40 to the scene for RIT. Rescue arrived to be put in service to assist with fire suppression and overhaul. Nov, 4, 2015 Members Honored With Life Safety Award
Nov, 4, 2015. At the Swatara Township meeting, Lt. John Tinari, FF. Mike Hays and FF. Craig Moyer along with members from Co 44 Lawnton and Life Team EMS were awarded the Life Safety award for their actions in helping saving a women life with rapid CPR. On Sept 26, 2015, members just returned from a fire call when they heard box 44-1 dispatched for a cardiac arrest. The crew responded with the Engine to assist. Crew assisted EMS with CPR. Several days later she walked out of the hospital. Great job to all involved.
